My skincare routine

Hey guys,

Sorry todays post is a little later! I usually post in the mornings but oh well better late than never!

As you can see by the title I will be sharing the products I use with you. Now I have quite a lot so I won’t be going into detail about everything so if there’s something you would like to know more about let me know in the comments!

I have combination skin that can vary from very dry to very oily so I have a lot of products for every occasion. Its usually pretty sensitive and red which makes it even harder.

The first thing I love for washing off my makeup or just generally giving my skin a nice fresh feeling is the simple moisturising face wash. Then when I want a deeper cleans to really get into my pores or remove dead skin I love the botanics purifying face scrub.

I also love this brush from penneys (primark of you’re in the uk) it is really good to scrub the skin and the silicone really stimulates blood flow.

My final 3 products are all living on my night stand that way I have no excuse for not using them!

The first is the la roche posay thermal spring water cream for sensitive cream and omg! If you haven’t tried this before you really should my skin has never felt so soft or looked so glowy! I’m already on my 3rd tube! The next product is the witch natural clear blemish gel. This is really good at pulling all the gunk out of your skin. It is also mild enough that you can put it everywhere without drying out your skin. The last product I wanted to tell you about it the argan oil night repair serum. I love the smell of argan oil and it is super moisturising! I have heard a lot of good things about this for older people with slightly more weather skin, but for the price I said I would try it!

Well thats it for now! I hope ye enjoyed and I would love to know what your favourite skincare product is ! Talk to you next week.

My 2018 so far in books

As many of ye may have noticed ( maybe you didn’t thats ok too) I have been kind of neglecting my blog since the beginning of this year. For the most part I just lacked the motivation to write anything and I didn’t want to just write something crap so I’d have something to post. This however means I have missed out on telling you guys about some of the great books I have been reading this year! So here’s a little list (I love lists!) to catch you guys up!

The poisoned crown by

The Poisoned Crown (The Accursed Kings, #3)
Average rating: 4.13/5
My rating:3/5
Goodreads synopsis:
After having his first wife murdered and his mistress exiled, the weak and impotent King Louis X of France becomes besotted with the lovely and pious Princess Clemence of Hungary.

Having made her his new queen, and believing the succession assured, Louis foolishly embarks upon an ill-fated war against Flanders.

The kingdom needs an Iron King. But where his father, Philip IV, was strong, Louis is feeble. Surrounded by ruthlessly ambitious nobles, Including Robert of Artois and his monstrous aunt, Mahaut, Louis will find himself a lamb amongst wolves.

I didn’t really have a massive problem with this book I just found it moved quite slow and I got quite bored of it in parts.
The Bane Chronicles
Image result for the bane chronicles
Average rating:4.19/5
My rating: 4/5
Goodreads synopsis:
Fans of The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices can get to know warlock Magnus Bane like never before in this collection of New York Times bestselling tales, in print for the first time with an exclusive new story and illustrated material.

This collection of eleven short stories illuminates the life of the enigmatic Magnus Bane, whose alluring personality, flamboyant style, and sharp wit populate the pages of the #1 New York Times bestselling series, The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices.

I guess thats probably not a very good synopsis but I really enjoyed this book it gave you a lot of background into who Magnus is and why he behaves the way that he does. It was a very interesting read for anyone that has an interest in the shadowhunter realm like I do.

Tell me no lies

Average rating:3.43/5

My rating:4/5

Goodreads synopsis:

Gemma and Mike – two kids hurt by their past are now inextricably linked. Their effect on each others’ lives will be explosive.

Honestly I dont remember much from this book at all. I must have liked it to give it 4 stars but it clearly wasn’t a very memorable book.

A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of mist and Fury

A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)

A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2)

Average ratings: 4.28/5 and 4.71/5

My rating: I gave both 5/5

I feel like the majority of you wont need me to give you a run down you’ll probably already know these books and I plan on writing a full review once I’ve the 3rd book finished so If you’re interested stay tuned for that! (But yes I’m loving it!)

So guys thats my 2018 so far I its not a lot compared to the amount that some of you guys can read but this is just mine! I hope you guys enjoyed it and I’ll talk to you soon.

Why I don’t wear makeup to university

Hey guys welcome back!

Now before I get started with this weeks beauty related blog I said Id put a little disclaimer at the beginning, this is just me and how I like to do it. If you like wearing a full face eyelashes and all everyday then you do you! This is just my experience.

  • For me personally not wearing makeup is more for practicality than anything else. Some days when I have a 9am start I have to be up at 6 to get my bus and I would rather the extra 20 minutes in bed than a face of makeup on.
  • I also find a lot of the times when I do have makeup on all day if I’m too busy to touch it up that it just doesnt look as good by the end of the day.
  • I am doing science in university which means I have a lot of labs and I find lab glasses can really ruin your look when it smudges and removes some of the makeup off my face which is just so annoying.
  • I have definitely noticed my confidence in myself has grown enormously since I started university, there is definitely less pressure to dress or look a certain way. You could turn up in a miniskirt or a pyjamas and none one cares which I love. But I haven’t tried going in my pjs yet.
  • A lot of the girls that I am friends with dont wear makeup on an everyday basis which also can make you feel an awful lot more comfortable when you are all barefaced. That being said if I have the time I will sometimes put on some makeup most days it’d only be a bit of concealer or brows or mascara but its something!Q

Maybe I’m the only one who is like this I’m not sure! Let me know if you guys wear makeup everyday to work or where ever you are going !

Talk to you guys soon

reader problems

As I am a reader and I know a lot of people reading this are too there can be problems with being reader. These are a few that I have found, I hope you enjoy!

  1. None of your friends understanding why you read or how much you enjoy books.
  2. Being broke constantly because there is too many books you have to reads.
  3. When a movie adaptation ruins the book.
  4. When you finish an incredible book and dont know what to do with your life.
  5. Reading an amazing book and feeling like you can never read again cause nothing will ever be this good.
  6. The strange look you get when you take a book out in a public place.
  7. Never being able to pass the book shop without going in even just to walk around for a few minutes.
  8. The literal pain when you see some one disrespecting or damaging a book.
  9. Not having enough space for all your books but not being able to get rid of any to make more space.
  10. The amount of time you waste thinking about what will happen next in your current book.
  11. Feeling like you have to force yourself to finish a book cause it had a massive hype or you just hate not finishing a book.
  12. Not wanting to return library books.
  13. Not knowing what to do with the dust cover of a hardback when you are reading the book.
  14. Not being able to ever finish a tbr list.
  15. Not knowing what to read next because you’ve so many books you want to read.

These are just some problems or annoyances I have faced as a reader if you have anymore then you should definitely share them with me and the rest of the readers in the comments!

A new direction?

Hi guys, so many of ye might have noticed that I’ve been a bit MIA for a while and I have been considering a few things about the future of this blog.

I was just wondering if there is anything you guys would like to see? Any specific content? Or even possibly splitting this blog into 2? I have noticed a lot of the people who view and enjoy the book blogs may not enjoy the beauty and visa versa.

So I would really appreciate anyone who’d reading this to let me know what you think in the comments below xx

Pet peeves for a bookworm

I hope all you book fans find this entertaining!

1. When you buy a book get home and realise some of the pages are crinkled and bent.

2. When people make fun of you for reading.

3. When the first book is amazing and you have to wait 2 years for the second one.

4. When a book has an incredible cover and blurb and is a terrible book.

5. When the people in the book store start staring at you because you’ve been standing at the shelf looking and touching the books for over an hour and you’re not buying anything.

6. When all you get for Christmas is books.

7. When people buy you books that you have no interest in. Amazing and heartbreaking at the same time.

8. When you can’t find a bookmark and refused to damage the pages of the book so you have to use a random object.

8. When they change the design or colour scheme of the covers midway through a series.

9. When the love triangle doesn’t go the way you want.

10. When you realise you have an endless tbr and will forever be buying new bookshelves for all your books.

11. When people say they hate your favourite books.

12. When people say you should throw away your books and you have to explain its like a child without seeming crazy.

13. When people tell you books are a waste of money.

14. When the library has no good books left.

15. When they make a series out of your favourite book that doesn’t follow the story line.

Well here’s 15 pet peeves I know I have about books! What are yours? Let me know in the comments.
